The Follow Up Boss company number is the default number we use when you text from Follow Up Boss unless you have a dedicated Follow Up Boss dialer number. This includes sending manual texts and initial text autoresponders in action plans. Though this number can be used by multiple people on your team, incoming texts and calls to the company number will route to the assigned agent for existing contacts. If a contact is not in Follow Up Boss, the text or call will route to the members assigned to receive those calls and texts based on your team inbox settings.
What is the Company Number?
All Follow Up Boss accounts have a Company Number. This is the number your texts come from when you send messages via our web or mobile apps (unless you have a dedicated Follow Up Boss dialer number).
What do I use the Company Number for?
- The default texting number for all Follow Up Boss users without a dialer
- Sending the Initial Text message in action plans
- Routes inbound calls to that number to the assigned agent's cell phone
Because this number may be used by multiple people within an account, it is designed to smart route text replies and inbound calls to the assigned agent of a contact. If someone calls or texts the company number and the inbound call comes from a number that's not in your database, we follow the routing rules you have set up in your company inbox.
Where can I find the Company Number?
Admin users can view the Company Number by going to Admin > Phone Numbers.
This number is also visible to agents in the from field of text messages on Lead Profiles.

All Follow Up Boss accounts are given a Company Number. This number is used for two-way texting and to forward incoming calls to the owner's cell (listed in your settings). It cannot be used for outbound calls.
A user can only place outbound calls in FUB if they enable the calling feature. With the calling feature, the owner can select which team members get FUB User Numbers (Personal Numbers). These numbers are unique for each user and totally separate from the Company Number. You can see all the numbers in an account under Admin > Phone Numbers. By default, the user number (personal number) will be used as the outbound number for all the user's calls and texts.
