Occasionally there will be lead sources that do not have a Follow Up Boss parser and have a format that is incompatible with the Follow Up Boss generic parser. In those cases, a good alternative is to use Zapier's parser to send leads over to Follow Up Boss.
1. Zapier Parser Setup
1. Go to Zapier Parser and Log In with your Zapier credentials or Sign Up for a free account
2. Click Create Mailbox
3. Forward the Lead Notification Email to the provided email ending in robot.zapier.com.
4. Highlight the lead information and Name the Selection for mapping the information to FUB
5. Leave the default settings for body source and parser engine > Save Address and Template
2. Create the Zap
1. Log In to Zapier
2. Click the orange Make a Zap button
3. Click Trigger > Email Parser by Zapier
4. For the Event, choose New Email > Continue
5. For Account, use Zapier Email Parser > Continue
6. For Trigger, select the Email Address that the lead notification email was forwarded to > Continue
7. Test Trigger > Continue with Selected Record
8. Choose Follow Up Boss as the action
9. For the event, choose New Inquiry or Website Event > Continue
10. Connect your FUB Account > Continue
Note: If you haven't connected your FUB account to Zapier before, you will need to generate an API Key.
11. Next, Map the Information to the corresponding fields > Continue
Note: Manually type in the source name and add any fields that don't have a section to the Message area at the top of the page.
12. Test Step
13. Publish
14. In your FUB account, check to make sure the lead was added to FUB correctly. To do this, go to Admin > Lead Flow and you should see a new lead flow source with the lead (as long as the lead was not previously in the system).
3. Gmail Auto-Forwarding
Lastly, you will need to Create Auto Forwarding Rules in Gmail (or your email provider) to forward the lead notification emails to your @robot.zapier.com email address automatically.
Additional Information
Zapier's Parser cannot write data to custom fields in Follow Up Boss. To add data to custom fields, you can build a custom API integration.
