The calling method allows you to choose how you want to make outbound calls. Calls can be made on the desktop or the call can be bridged to your mobile device.
Finding the Calling Method
Go to your Initials/Image in the upper right-hand corner > My Settings > Outgoing Calls > Calling Method.
Setting the Calling Method
To set your calling method, click the drop-down menu to the right of the calling method. This will expose the outbound calling options available.
Always Use Internet
- Calls made on the desktop will be made through the Internet.
Always Use Mobile Phone
- Calls will be initiated on the desktop and routed to your mobile phone which will then bridge the call to the lead.
- Note: This option is recommended if you don't have a strong internet connection.
Ask Me Each Time
- When making a call, the calling method dropdown will appear to choose how to make the call, internet or mobile phone.
- Note: With this option selected, calls made from the make a call function in the upper right-hand corner of Follow Up Boss will be made from the internet
Enabling Keypress Before Dialing the Lead
When using the mobile phone or ask me each time calling methods, requiring keypress before calling the lead is recommended to improve call connections. With this feature enabled, the call will be bridged to your mobile phone and you will be prompted to press any key on the phone before the call is connected to the lead.
Note: If the call is answered and a key is not pressed or the call goes to your voicemail, the lead will not be called.
If the requiring keypress before dialing lead is disabled, and you do not answer the phone, the lead will receive a call and hear your mobile voicemail.
Making a Call
Always Use Internet
Click on the lead's phone number and the lead will be called on your desktop.
Always Use Mobile Phone
1. Click on the lead's phone number
2. Then you will receive a call from your Follow Up Boss number to your mobile phone (the number listed in your settings).
3. Answer the call and make sure to say something. If the call is answered in silence, the call will be disconnected.
4. Then the call to the lead will begin.
Note: The lead will always see your Follow Up Boss outbound number on caller ID.
Ask Me Each Time
1. Click on the lead's phone number
2. Choose the desired calling method; Internet or Mobile Phone
3. The call will begin based on the option selected (see above for calling method steps)
Troubleshooting
If the calling method is not reflected in your account after saving your preferences, refresh the browser to update the system.
If you are not receiving a call to your mobile phone (to bridge the call to the lead), add your Follow Up Boss outbound number to your phone contacts and mark it as a favorite. This will bypass any reason the carrier would suppress or silence the ringing of the call.
"Your call could not be completed as dialed, please check the number and try again when dialing an invalid or out-of-service number from the mobile app and desktop mobile bridge."
If you are hearing this message, it means that the call could not be connected due to the number being invalid or outside the US/Canada.
