Number labels are used to describe each number listed on a lead profile, such as work, spouse, mobile, and landline. Number labels can easily be added when imputing or updating a phone number. There are preset options for quick selections and the ability to customize the label to describe the number.
Labeling Phone Numbers
1. Navigate to the desired Lead Profile
2. Hover over the Phone Number > click on the Pencil Icon
3. Click in the Label section > Add or Select a label
4. Save Phone Numbers
Landline Detection
Follow Up Boss automatically scans contact numbers for their landline status upon creation to save you time and protect your texting reputation. Landline numbers will have the label, "landline" with the landline phone icon.
If a landline is the only number listed on a lead profile, text messages cannot be sent until a mobile number is added to the profile. Landline numbers will not appear in the Inbox (when texting) or Quick Text options as they cannot receive text messages.
Note: If a number label was previously added, it will not be replaced with "landline," but have the landline phone icon.
Wrong/Invalid Number
Numbers are automatically marked as a Bad Number if it's in the wrong format or doesn't belong to a carrier. Bad numbers are listed in red with a line through it to give you an extra visual warning before sending a text or calling a contact. We won't restrict you from continuing to use it, but we do want to make it easy for you to see that it might be a bad number.
How to Mark a Bad Number
1. Hover over the Phone Number of the contact > click on the Pencil Icon
2. Check the box for Bad Number > Save Phone Numbers
3. The number will appear red with a line through it to signal a bad number
Unsubscribed
If a contact unsubscribes from your text messages, their number will appear in orange. When hovering over the number, the message "Phone number has opted out" will show. Here is more information about Texting Opt-in/Opt-Out.
Importing Phones with Labels
There are two ways in which we handle linking a phone and a phone number:
1. Single column
Let's say in the CSV you have a column named Home Phone Number, when you go to select a field, you can choose the Phone Home option, which will add the Home label to each of the phone numbers in that column. We also have one for Mobile and Work.
2. Multiple columns
If you have 2 columns, a Phone Number column, and a Phone Label column, you can select the Phone field option for the Phone Number, and the Phone Type field for the Phone Label column. Then the text in the Phone Label column will be matched with the Phone Number column.
