Manually logging calls on the Android app is essential to track calls made outside of Follow Up Boss. The last communication filter also includes manually logged calls, so you know who you have contacted and when.
As of version 2.2.0, call logging behavior has changed slightly from previous versions - due to Google privacy restrictions, call activity on your phone cannot be tracked. This means that after any call you make, you will want to navigate back to the lead's page within the app and manually log the call.
When to manually log a call
Manual call logging is helpful when a call is not automatically tracked in Follow Up Boss. Use it in the following situations:
- You called the lead from a phone other than your mobile phone or your Follow Up Boss number.
- You do not have the Follow Up Boss app or Follow Up Boss Calling and called a lead from your mobile phone number or another phone number.
- Your team uses call logs to document face-to-face conversations with leads so those interactions align with the Last Communication filter.
- Your team needs to log incoming calls made by leads to an agent’s mobile phone when the team or user does not have Follow Up Boss Calling. On iPhone, incoming calls to a cell number are not logged automatically and can be logged manually.
- If you make an outgoing call from the iPhone app without Follow Up Boss Calling, the call can still be logged automatically when it is initiated from the app and connected to the lead profile.
Manually logged calls are also useful for reporting and Smart Lists because they help track who was contacted and when.
