There are various reasons why an email can go to spam depending on the type of email. We have outlined the most common reasons why each type of email goes to spam and what to do for successful email delivery.
1:1 Emails
Signature
A signature can cause an email to go to spam due to the amount of images and/or links. To see if your signature is causing an issue with email delivery, try sending an email without your signature. If your signature is the culprit, we recommend Editing your Signature.
Content
When sending an email, there are various reasons why an email can go to spam. One of the first reasons an email can go to spam is due to the content of the email. To learn more, check out Best Practice: Emailing.
Links
Often times, links can cause emails to go to spam. To avoid this, we recommend Hyperlinking all links within an email.
Batch Emails

Email Policy
If your batch emails are consistently marked as spam, we recommend adding the Follow Up Boss SendGrid SPF record to your email policy. This will allow FUB to send batch emails on your behalf using our SendGrid account. The SPF record informs recipients that the email is not being spoofed and that FUB is a trusted sender. Here is more information on adding an SPF record in Google Workspace and Microsoft.
Note: To update SPF records, you must have a Google Workspace or Microsoft email.

Action Plan Emails

Login and Connected Email
Confirm that your log in and connected email are the same in your My Settings. If you change these settings, try to send another action plan email to see if this resolves the issue.
Content
Send personalized communication with the use of Merge Fields, avoid all capital letters, multiple exclamation marks, spam like-words and phrases. We also recommend having a good image to text ration with action plan emails.

DMARC Policy
When an email's DMARC policy is set to quarantine or reject it can cause the emails to go to spam. To resolve this, set your DMARC policy to p=none. Here is more information on adjusting your DMARC policy in Google and Microsoft.
