Lead deduplication is necessary to keep your database clean and accurately track communication. Follow Up Boss automatically deduplicates leads and provides a merge function for one-off cases.
How it Works
How Follow Up Boss Deduplicates
Follow Up Boss automatically deduplicates imported and web leads based on the following criteria:
If the email address matches
OR
If the phone number AND first and last name match
How to Manually Deduplicate
Using the Search Function
1. Type the lead name in the Search bar
2. Click View List of People
3. You will be directed to a list of the contacts that populated in the search
4. Check the Boxes next to the desired leads > Mass Actions
5. Select Merge People
6. Select the Main Person to merge data to > Yes, Merge 2 People
7. Once the lead is merged, there will be a note added to the timeline stating the contact that was merged and any additional information that could not be automatically added to the lead profile. This can include custom field information if the field already has already been filled.
Note: Mering contacts will not remove or override lead information.
Filtering A-Z
1. Go to People > All People
2. Clear or Add Filters to the desired contacts (if needed)
3. Click on the Name column header > Select Sort A-Z
3. Scroll down to find duplicate contacts
4. Check the Boxes next to the desired leads > Mass Actions
5. Select Merge People
6. Select the Main Person to merge data to > Yes, Merge 2 People
