Summary

At Follow Up Boss, we want to help you keep your leads organized. Usually, this means preventing duplicates from entering the system. However, there are two scenarios in which you may want a lead to be duplicated and assigned to a new agent: Agent-funded leads and when importing leads.  To accommodate these scenarios, we have created a setting to allow duplicates in these scenarios. Here's how it works:

Agent-Funded Lead  

With the Agent Owned Lead Duplication on, if a lead comes through an Agent Owned Lead Flow, we will search for an existing contact that came through that lead flow. If one did not come through that lead flow, we will create a new contact even if the contact already exists and is assigned to someone else. An Agent Owned Lead Flow is a Lead Flow that is using the agent's API key, @followupboss.me email, or connected email if email parsing is turned on. This does not apply to admin, owner, or otherwise account level lead flows.

When to use this

When an agent pays for a Facebook Lead Ad, they expect that any leads coming in through that lead flow will be assigned to them. However, it's possible that a lead was already in FUB and assigned to a different agent. Previously, a new inquiry via the agent's paid Facebook Ad will update the existing profile and notify the existing agent. This feature solves that problem by creating a new contact assigned to the agent that purchased the Facebook Lead Ad and by not updating the existing profile and notifying the existing contact's agent.

 

Importing Agent Contacts

With the Agent Owned Lead Duplication on, the agent ID will be used to apply the Agent Duplication rules. If there is an existing lead assigned to the agent, we will update the contact. If there is an existing lead not assigned to the agent, we will NOT update the existing contact and we will create a new contact assigned to the agent importing.

When to use this

When a new agent comes on board, all the contacts in their CSV file will be created anew and assigned to them (we will still combine duplicates within the CSV). They won't be updating other agent's leads with their own proprietary information.
