Texting Betty is a seamless messaging solution on Follow Up Boss that helps you send, schedule, and automate text messages to boost lead engagement. Built directly into Follow Up Boss action plans, Texting Betty makes it effortless to integrate texting into your workflow. With an intuitive inbox, you can respond to notifications instantly, while the built-in dashboard lets you adjust settings and track engagement with ease.
Enable the Embedded App
⚠️ Important: You will need to subscribe to Texting Betty before enabling the embedded app.
Enable the Texting Betty Embedded App by going to Admin > Integrations > Embedded Apps > Texting Betty > Enable to send or schedule text messages directly from the lead profile.
The built-in dashboard provides key insights into your Texting Betty activity, including sent and received message volumes and overall engagement rates. You can also track engagement rates for each text drip campaign, helping you make informed decisions to optimize message performance.

Inbox Apps
The Texting Betty Inbox App is automatically enabled for all Texting Betty users to manage their communication in the FUB inbox.
Create Automated Text Drip Campaigns through Action Plans
Texting Betty uses Follow Up Boss notes to create and automate text messages within action plans. To set up a text drip campaign, simply add a note as a step, use a Texting Betty tag (below) to schedule the message at a specific time, and enter your text just as you would for an email. To personalize your messages, you can include merge fields that adapt to each lead.
How to Enable
Once you have subscribed to Texting Betty and completed the Texting Betty onboarding call, automated text drip campaigns through action plans will be enabled on your FUB account by the Texting Betty team.
Example
In this example, the first message will be sent immediately using the [Scheduled] tag—if it's within business hours—while the second message will be sent the next day at 11:30 AM.
⭐️ Pro tip! You can customize the time tag within business hours to suit your preferences. For example, instead of sending a text to leads at [11:30AM], you can schedule it for [11:13AM]. Just make sure to keep the tag format consistent and avoid adding spaces between the numbers and letters.
Note: The text will only be sent to the primary phone number listed for the given lead.
Once the step runs, you will see the text message appear on the lead profile.

Phone Numbers
During onboarding, you will receive a local number with your preferred area code (availability may vary). Texting Betty provides a dedicated line to protect your main business number from spam flags. Use a shared line for your team or assign individual numbers. For multiple locations, we can auto-match area codes to recipients.
