Beginning January 6, 2026, Follow Up Boss will begin to charge sales tax in applicable jurisdictions. To do this, we will need your business billing address on file.
Your business billing address is the address where your business receives services purchased from Follow Up Boss. It is used for sales tax purposes and may differ from the address associated with your payment method.
Why is my business billing address required?
Your business billing address determines your sales tax rate, where applicable, and will appear on your invoices.
What if I have multiple business billing addresses?
If you have multiple business billing addresses, you should use the address that most closely matches the definition below.
Your business billing address is the primary address where your business receives services purchased from Follow Up Boss. It is used for sales tax purposes and may differ from the address associated with your payment method.
What happens if I do not have a valid business billing address listed on my account?
If your business billing address is not verified or updated in your account, Follow Up Boss will rely on the next best available data to calculate sales tax. This is based on standard sourcing rules from the Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Agreement. In this instance, your sales tax may not accurately reflect where you receive our services.
How long will my business billing address be stored?
Regulations require this information to be maintained for at least 10 years. For more information about how your information is used, visit the FUB Addendum to the Follow Up Boss Privacy Notice.
How is state and local sales tax calculated?
Some states impose sales tax on certain products and services, including those delivered electronically.
State and local legislation varies by jurisdiction and determines how Follow Up Boss must calculate sales tax. The tax amount is based on the business billing address listed in your account, and applicable state and local tax rates are applied according to that location.
