Follow the steps below to update your DNS records with Google Domains. Many Google Workspace emails use a different DNS host, so please use the steps here to confirm that your DNS records are hosted with Google: How to Find your Email DNS Host.
1. Access your DNS Records
A. To access your DNS records in Follow Up Boss, go to Admin > Email Domain Authentication.
Note: This tab is only available to the owner and admin users. Please reach out to an admin on your team to obtain your DNS records.
B. Claim your Domain to generate DNS records
C. You can copy each record into your domain records, if you are updating them yourself.
You can also email them to your IT personnel/the owner of the domain, if someone other than you will be completing the rest of these steps.
These records are public domain, so it's ok to send them over email and share them with agents who need to authenticate domains they own.
2. Update the DNS Records on Google Domains
Follow these steps: DNS Basics
For the priority in the MX record value use: 15 mx.sendgrid.net.
3. DNS Setup is Complete
The status will show "Pending" in Follow Up Boss until your domain host updates your new DNS records globally, which usually takes up to 24 hours. FUB will check every hour to see if your domain's records are updated, and automatically update the status to "Verified" when the changes are detected.
Emails can still be sent while in the "Pending" status.
Troubleshooting
If it's been more than 24 hours since you updated your DNS records and it still shows Pending in FUB, you can click on the "Pending" button on the Domain Auth page in FUB to see which records are not verified.
For help troubleshooting errors, please take a screenshot showing how you've entered the records in Google Domains and send it to support@followupboss.com.
