To have the best email deliverability, Follow Up Boss recommends our users have domain-authenticated email addresses (@your_company_name.com) and updated DNS records. With these two items in place, you will be able to send up to 10,000 marketing emails per day with the best chance of each email making it to the recipient's inbox.
Why is this changing?
Google recently announced some major updates, coming on February 1st, 2024, about how they're approaching email security standards for 3rd party email marketing services, like FUB. Other major email providers like Microsoft and Yahoo are following in Google's footsteps, so this is soon going to be the "new normal". For more information on those details click here to see the announcement from Google.
Let's Get Started
1. Create a Custom Domain
Create a Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 account with a your-company-name.com email address (avoid free accounts like @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, @aol.com, etc.).
2. Update Your Login Email in FUB
Go to your initials/image in the upper right-hand corner of FUB > My Settings > Update your Login email to your new email address.
3. Connect Your New Email to FUB
To connect your email, go to your initials/image in the upper right-hand corner of FUB > My Settings > Sign in with Google/Microsoft. Here are detailed instructions on how to connect your email.
4. Update DNS Records
Update your DNS records within FUB by going to Admin > Domain Authentication. For step-by-step instructions, check out Authenticate your Custom Domain to Improve Email Deliverability - Entri.
Use Your New Email Everywhere
Be sure to update your new email address on your website, signatures, MLS, and anywhere else you share your email with potential clients.
Make the Switch
Set up an auto-forwarding rule in your old email account to send new messages to your new email account. Add an auto-responder in your old email to let people know you have a new email address. Be sure to connect your new email to the email app on your smartphone so you can check your email on the go!

* If you are nearing your provider’s daily sending limit by sending a lot of 1:1 email messages through FUB, we will adjust the number of marketing emails sent through Follow Up Boss to keep from hitting your email provider’s daily sending limit. We cannot see how many emails are sent outside of FUB, so it’s possible someone could hit their limit by sending a lot of emails directly from your email.
