Automations 2.0 is an improved and simplified iteration of the automation tools in Follow Up Boss, designed to help users optimize and elevate their workflow through automated tasks. This enhancement offers greater flexibility and dynamic capabilities for creating automation rules, empowering agents to effectively handle tasks, follow-ups, and interactions with leads.
When you switch to Automations 2.0, all your existing automations and action plans will automatically migrate to Automations 2.0. The Lead Flow page will reflect the changes as previously assigned action plans transition into automations, and the API will redirect any action plan requests to the new automation endpoint. Once switched, you will gain early access to the new features that enhance the automation process.
⚠️ Only the account owner can enable Automations 2.0. When switching to Automations 2.0, account changes cannot be reversed.
What changes happen to my account when I switch to Automations 2.0?
Automations
All existing automations will be migrated to Automations 2.0 with the manual trigger.
Action Plans
All existing action plans will be converted to Automations.
Action plans will be locked down, meaning that you can only pause, resume, or delete an action plan; you will not be able to edit, create, or start an action plan after the migration. Emails from Automations 2.0 are sent from the account's connected email.

Lead Flow
On the Lead Flow page, the previously assigned action plan will be converted to an automation and will be triggered for any new leads post-migration.
API
API redirects will take any API requests to action plans and automatically redirect those to the new automations endpoint. To learn more, view our API documentation.
⚠️ Important: While all migrated action plans will continue to be activated by Zapier, Make, or using APl, any new automations built will need to be triggered by the addition of a tag and a tag trigger when using these outside tools (Zapier/Make/API). This will evolve in the future as we update our API endpoints and integrations with third-party tools, such as Zapier.
Lead Profile
The lead profile will show automations instead of action plans. Automations can be manually applied to the profile.
Note: The action plan tile on the lead profile will remain visible until there are no active action plans on your account. Action plans cannot be applied.
How to enable Automations 2.0
⚠️ Only the account owner can enable Automations 2.0. When switching to Automations 2.0, account changes cannot be reversed.
1. Go to Admin > Automations
2. Select Click here to learn more
3. Select Migrate to Automations 2.0
4. Confirm that you want to permanently migrate to Automations 2.0 by clicking Continue with migration
5. The migration to Automations 2.0 will begin
6. When the migration is complete, you will see the Migration Successful screen. Check out our Automations 2.0 Overview article to learn more about creating and using Automations 2.0.
